SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 - UK to Washington DC
Fly from London to Washington DC, arriving later the same day - departures from other UK airports are also available, of course. On arrival make your way to your chosen hotel, for a three night stay - our city stopovers are completely flexible, so if you’d like a day or two more or less just let us know!
Days 2-3 - Washington DC
Today start your sightseeing of Washington DC, the nation’s capital - there’s so much to see here that a few days may not be enough! Plan your time carefully as the city was built on a big scale - the hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses are a great way to save your legs. We highly recommend pre-booking a tour of the Capitol Building, and our other favourite sights include the iconic Lincoln Memorial, the National Archives and of course the White House.
Day 4 - Washington DC to Philadelphia
Make your way to Washington’s Union Station for the Amtrak train service to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. On arrival make your way to your hotel for a two night stay - we have a range of hotel options to choose from, and your length of stay in Philadelphia is flexible.
Day 5 - Philadelphia
A two night stay in Philadelphia will give you time to take in the city’s key attractions, including the Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. Philadelphia’s history is intertwined with that of the USA as a whole, and it’s a really fascinating city, so plan your time here to make the most of it. We’d suggest heading to Independence Park to get things underway.
Day 6 - Philadelphia to New York
Make your way back to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station for the Amtrak train service to New York. On arrival at New York’s Penn Station make your way to your hotel for a three night stay - our holidays are very flexible so your durations can be tailored to suit your exact requirements!
Days 7-8 - New York
Your next few days are free to explore New York. There’s so much to see and do in New York, from classic sights such as the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge, to groundbreaking buildings such as the Empire State Building and the Flatiron Building - it’s important to plan your time carefully to make the most of your time in the ‘Big Apple’.
Day 9 - Return
Make your way to the airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving the next day.
