San Diego’s incredible natural harbour is the reason the city grew in importance, especially after the US Pacific fleet relocated here during WWII. Today there’s also a big hi-tech side to the city, plus the Mexican influence gives San Diego plenty of character - after all, the border is only 10 miles away. San Diego Zoo is world renowned and there’s plenty of other interest too including museums, parks and historical sites. The Gaslamp District comes alive at night with hundreds of places to eat, drink and dance, and makes a great location to base yourself in.

With good flight connections, excellent highways and even a straightforward train link to LA, it’s easy to include San Diego in to any California itinerary.

It’s often said that San Diego is ‘America’s finest city’ - and we’d have to agree! The weather is almost perfect, the beaches are wide, stunning and close to the city, there’s a myriad of superb restaurants, bars and shops, and the whole atmosphere is distinctly laid back. California’s second largest city is one we’d highly recommend.
