“Wildlife is a huge reason to visit and I saw a massive amount here - rhino elephant, and more”
What to do in the Safari Game Parks
Most game lodges and camps arrange two game drives per day in to the reserve, to see the wildlife at close hand - this is generally early morning and late afternoon. On an escorted game drive, experienced rangers and skilled trackers impart their knowledge of the land and the wildlife you’ll encounter. For many, this is the highlight of their South African experience.
Where to stay in the Safari Game Parks
Staying in one of South Africa’s game reserves is an experience in itself, with good quality accommodation in most reserves adding to the thrill of the safari. Lodges offer hotel-style accommodation while tented accommodation often offers the most luxurious options, some complete with their own private plunge pool!
Holiday ideas to the Safari Game Parks
Spend a few days on safari in the Kruger National Park area or the Eastern Cape as part of a longer holiday to South Africa. From Kruger fly down to Cape Town and the Winelands or from the Eastern Cape reserves drive along the Garden Route and Whale Coast to Cape Town - there are numerous options available!
The game reserves of South Africa are a superb way to get close to some of Africa’s incredible wildlife. Kruger National Park is the Africa of vast open spaces, fiery sunrises and abundant wildlife including the famed ‘Big 5’. This is one of the largest, and oldest, game reserves in Africa and undoubtedly offers the best game viewing experience in South Africa. Conveniently situated at the end of the Garden Route, the Eastern Cape Game Reserves offer fantastic ‘Big 5’ game viewing in wonderfully scenic surrounds.
