What to do in Dubai
There’s loads to see and do in Dubai - kids will love the water parks while exploring the dunes by 4x4 is an incredible experience for everyone! The city is renowned for its shopping, with huge modern malls and traditional Arabic souks both available. Explore the older parts of the city by traditional abra, or see the whole area from the observation deck at Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
Where to stay in Dubai
Dubai offers an incredible array of accommodation options, with a huge range of luxury hotels and a selection of budget-orientated options too. Stay in the Deira area of the city for a few days exploring Dubai’s traditional side, or on the beach for a more relaxed break. The marina area at Jumeirah beach is a popular choice for good value hotels close to the beach plus The Walk offering restaurants and cafes, while the iconic Palm Jumeirah is dotted with luxury hotel options. The new Downtown area at the Burj Khalifa is part way between Deira and the beaches, so works well for getting around.
Holiday ideas to Dubai
Spend a few days, a week or longer relaxing on the beaches of Dubai, soaking up the sun and staying in luxurious surroundings. With daily flights from various parts of the UK, most durations are possible. Alternatively, combine time on the beach with a few nights in the desert, or further afield, as twin centre holidays combining Dubai with the Far East, Indian Ocean, East Africa and other destinations are all possible.
The United Arab Emirates is one of the most forward-thinking countries in the world, and its commercial centre Dubai is rapidly establishing itself as an internationally renowned city. Dubai is home to some of the most amazing projects currently ongoing - the world’s tallest building, mega malls, manmade islands and more - while the traditional Arabia can still be found. With glorious beaches and probably the best hotels in the world - Dubai is a must-see destination.
