What to do in Mexico
The Yucatan Peninsula has plenty of historic and cultural interest, but its the stunning beaches that are the main draw. Cancun’s exciting nightlife is in contrast to the more sedate pace along the Riviera Maya. Elsewhere, tours of Mexico are popular and fly-drive options to the Yucatan Peninsula are also available. Pacific resorts such as Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan offer a different side of the country.
Where to stay in Mexico
Cancun and the nearby Riviera Maya has an impressive selection of hotels, offering perhaps the best mix of standards and price available in the Caribbean. Recent years have seen a swathe of development so many properties offer state of the art furnishings and unbeatable standards. Most hotels tend to be All Inclsuive. Away from the Yucatan Peninsula, resorts such as Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Mazatlan offer a more traditional beach stay in Mexico.
Holiday ideas to Mexico
Cancun and the Riviera Maya offer the perfect base for a week or two in the sun. Impressive flight connections also link Cancun to various parts of the USA, so numerous twin centre holidays combining Cancun and the USA are possible - Cancun and New York, Miami or Las Vegas are amongst the most popular.
The sun-drenched Yucatán Peninsula conjures up images of platinum sands, azure waters and gently swaying palms but Mexico is a diverse nation that offers so much more than stunning beaches. Combine cultural and historic exploration with an indulgent beach stay to make the most of this Latin American gem.
