SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 - UK to Adelaide
Fly from London to Adelaide, arriving the next day.
Days 2-3 - Adelaide
On arrival make your way to your chosen hotel, for a two night stay - we have a range of hotels to choose from, and your length of stay in Adelaide is flexible. Spend a few days exploring the city - there’s plenty to see and do, so perhaps take the tram to Glenelg, the city’s beach suburb where a plethora of cafes and bars take in the sunset each evening. Our other top tip is the Coopers Brewery - tours of Australia’s largest independent brewery are available, and their beers are superb (we can vouch for that!)
Day 4 - Adelaide to the Barossa Valley
Collect your rental car from the Adelaide depot, and head to the Barossa Valley - we’d suggest going via the Adeliade Hills (approx 100 km / 1 hour 45 mins, plus stops). Visiting pretty villages such as Hahndorf and Stirling on the way. On arrival in to the Barossa Valley check in to your hotel for a two night stay.
Day 5 - Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley is one of the world’s great wine regions, and today it’s yours to explore - the 25 km long valley produces over a fifth of Australia’s total wine, and its easy to visit wineries to sample the local Shiraz, Riesling and more.
Day 6 - Barossa Valley to the Flinders Ranges
Head from the Barossa Valley to the Flinders Ranges, and we’d suggest travelling via Mount Remarkable and Quorn (approx 425 km / 4 hours 40 mins, plus stops). Mount Remarkable National Park offers steep, jagged landscapes with various walking tracks. Port Augusta is the ‘crossroads of Australia’ and the town centre is pretty, while Quorn (pronounced ‘corn’) feels like a film set with its classic streets. On arrival in to the Flinders Ranges check in to your hotel for a two night stay.
Day 7 - Flinders Ranges
Flinders Ranges National Park - ‘the Flinders’ - offers dramatic landscapes, aboriginal rock art and a carpet of wild flowers after it rains (albeit rare!) The 80 sq km natural basin of Wilpena Pound (Ikara) is the heart of the park, while bushwalking in the area is superb.
Day 8 - Flinders Ranges to Adelaide
Today is a fairly long drive to Adelaide (approx 430 km / 4 hours 50 mins, plus stops). On arrival in to Adelaide drop off your car at the depot and check in to your hotel for a final night.
Day 9 - Return
Make your way to Adelaide airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving the next day.
Explore stylish Adelaide before heading out of town to the world-renowned wine region of the Barossa Valley. From here head to the Outback and the stunning Flinders Ranges, before returning to the city to end your adventure.
