ITINERARY

Day 1 - Depart

Fly from Heathrow to Nairobi, arriving next day. Regional departures from around the UK are also available.

Day 2 - Samburu

You’ll be met on arrival at Nairobi airport, and transferred to the nearby Safari Lounge, where you can freshen up and store any beach luggage that you don’t want to take on safari. Fly to the Samburu National Reserve (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes) and transfer to your camp for lunch. Samburu Intrepids Camp looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephants, buffaloes and zebras come daily to drink, together with the rarer species of reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx and long-necked gerenuk antelope. A late afternoon game drive. Overnight: Samburu Intrepids Camp (lunch and dinner included).

Day 3 - Samburu

Early morning and late afternoon game drives. Relax by the pool or camel and walking safaris can be arranged (book and pay locally). Overnight: Samburu Intrepids Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 4 - Samburu

Early morning and late afternoon game drives. Relax by the pool or camel and walking safaris can be arranged (book and pay locally). Overnight: Samburu Intrepids Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 5 - Masai Mara

Transfer to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara (approximately 45 minutes). An afternoon game drive. Mara Intrepids Camp sits above a sweeping bend in the Talek River. Overnight: Mara Intrepids Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 6 - Masai Mara

An early morning balloon flight, followed by a 'bubbly' bush breakfast (optional extra), or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Time to relax by the pool before a late afternoon game drive. Overnight: Mara Intrepids Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 7 - Masai Mara

An early morning balloon flight, followed by a 'bubbly' bush breakfast (optional extra), or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Time to relax by the pool before a late afternoon game drive. Overnight: Mara Intrepids Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 8 - Depart

Light aircraft flight to Nairobi (approximately 1 hour) from where you can proceed with your chosen extension or return to Heathrow (breakfast included).

Notes

Game drives are conducted in the camp’s own vehicles, and a window seat cannot be guaranteed.

On occasion the itinerary may operate in a different order, or different lodges used according to availability and road conditions.

Travel times vary on road conditions and game sightings.

Pack a mixture of warm and light clothing in soft bags, plus sunglasses, camera and insect repellent.

Light aircraft baggage allowance is 15 kg - soft sided bags must be used.
