For stunning scenery that’s easily accessible, Grampians National Park is well worth including in any Victorian itinerary - a haven for nature-lovers and activity-seekers alike, the mountains of the Grampians are amongst Victoria’s scenic highlights. There’s a rich cultural aspect to be explored here too, with 80% of the state’s Aboriginal rock art found in the park, much of which is amongst the most accessible in Victoria.
Elsewhere in this scenic and culture rich area of Victoria, the Goldfields to the east once produced around a third of the world’s gold, and the cities of Bendigo and Ballarat still reflect the wealth it brought to this day. Ballarat’s impressive Sovereign Hill is a top visitor attraction, but take the time to explore smaller towns such as Castlemaine (birthplace of the famous lager) and Kyneton too.
