ITINERARY
Day 1 - Depart
Fly from Heathrow to Dar es Salaam. Regional departures from around the UK are also available. On arrival at Dar es Salaam airport, you’ll be met and transferred to the Mövenpick Royal Palm Hotel for overnight.
Day 2 - Ruaha National Park
Fly by light aircraft to Ruaha National Park (via Selous). On arrival transfer to your tented camp situated on the banks of the Jongomero River at the edge of Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is relatively remote, and is home to an unusual combination of East and Southern African wildlife and birds. After lunch a game drive will introduce you to this incredible game reserve. Overnight: Jongomero Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 3 - Ruaha National Park
Morning and afternoon game activities. Ruaha National Park is noted for large numbers of greater kudu as well as lesser kudu, sable and roan antelope, buffaloes, elephants, lions and African wild dogs. Jongomero Camp is located at the heart of a pristine area of the park with curious rock formations and rich vegetation. The spacious, welcoming suites are furnished comfortably and elegantly, allowing guests to relax in this mysterious land. Overnight: Jongomero Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 4 - Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, light aircraft flight to the Selous Game Reserve. Transfer to your camp, which offers luxury safari accommodation in the heart of the Selous Game Reserve. Positioned on the Zema River, all tents at the Selous Serena Camp are well positioned offering guests optimum game viewing as well as privacy and exclusivity. In the afternoon game activities will introduce you to Selous’ wildlife. Overnight: Selous Serena Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 5 - Selous Game Reserve
Morning and late afternoon game activities in and around Selous Game Reserve. Relatively untouched, Selous is said to be the largest game reserve in Africa and to contain the world's largest concentration of elephants. Overnight: Selous Serena Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 6 - Selous Game Reserve
Morning and late afternoon game activities. The park is home to large numbers of buffaloes, crocodiles and hippos as well as relatively high numbers of lions and rhinos. Overnight: Selous Serena Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 7 - Beach
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled flight by light aircraft to Dar es Salaam, and continue to Zanzibar. You’ll be met on arrival and transferred to your chosen beach hotel - prices here include a week on the beach but pretty much any duration is possible. Spend the next week relaxing on the beach.
Day 14 - Return
Return transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

Game drives are conducted in the camp’s own vehicles, and a window seat cannot be guaranteed.
On occasion the itinerary may operate in a different order, or different lodges used according to availability and road conditions.
Travel times vary on road conditions and game sightings.
Pack a mixture of warm and light clothing in soft bags, plus sunglasses, camera and insect repellent.
Light aircraft baggage allowance is 15 kg - soft sided bags must be used.
