What to do in Koh Samui
Koh Samui's beaches are the island's main draw, but there's plenty to do besides. The series of islands off the coast that form the Ang Thong national park offer excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities, and away from the coast, Samui's interior is lush and worth visiting.
Where to stay in Koh Samui
Koh Samui has a number of resorts each with their own character - although getting around is quite easy so nowhere is too far away! Chaweng is the main resort, with a great range of bars, shops, restaurants and hotels. On the north coast, the smaller resorts of Mae Nam and Bo Phut offer a more laid back base, but only about 10 minutes from Chaweng. Elsewhere, smaller resorts offer peaceful locations, and with some of the islands best accommodation, these are often worth a look, especially for a special holiday such as a honeymoon.
Holiday ideas to Koh Samui
It's easy just to visit Koh Samui on holiday as it's such a beautiful island. Alternatively, consider a Bangkok and Koh Samui twin centre package holiday, or a multi centre holiday taking in other parts of Thailand, such as Chiang Mai.
Located of Thailand's Southeast Coast, beautiful Koh Samui enjoys a laid back pace of life, palm-fringed beaches and and a warm welcome. Koh Samui is a relatively small island to explore, so head away from the main resorts to see a more rural way of life. Each evening, the east coast springs to life, with Chaweng and Lamai offering an endless supply of places to eat, drink and be merry!
