Getting to Hurghada & El Gouna
Hurghada airport is served by direct flights from Gatwick and Manchester year-round, with flights at certain times of year from other UK airports. The airport is around 15 minutes transfer from most Hurghada hotels, 30 minutes from the Sahl Hasheesh area and 50 minutes from El Gouna.
Hurghada airport has frequent flight connections from Cairo, making Cairo plus Hurghada and Cairo plus El Gouna holidays easy. It’s around a 4-5 hour road transfer from Luxor for Nile plus beach holidays.
Hurghada has become one of the foremost resorts on the Red Sea, having developed into an area that’s a haven for holidaymakers and divers alike, offers a wide range of facilities from markets and shops to restaurants and bars. To the north, El Gouna is a purpose-built resort set on islands on the shores of the Red Sea, in a picturesque setting with a laid-back atmosphere - it's an easy-going resort where everything needed for a great holiday has been thought about.

What to do in Hurghada & El Gouna
Hurghada is a traditional town with plenty of interest, and makes an excellent base for divers as there are numerous sites within easy access of the resort. The Harbour at Sigala is the main focus of Hurghada, with locations further out offering a more relaxing atmosphere. El Gouna is built over a series of islands and lagoons, and there’s plenty going on here, with an 18-hole golf course, impressive water sports, a go cart track and spa, all linked by shuttle boats and buses. The Downtown area has a range of shops, bars and restaurants too.
Where to stay in Hurghada & El Gouna
Both Hurghada and El Gouna offer a good selection of hotel options. In Hurghada, most hotels are located in the resort itself or to the south at the Sahl Hasheesh area. Hotel options range from good value to internationally renowned. El Gouna has a range of hotels from 3* to 5*, with hotel groups such as Sheraton and Movenpick leading the way.
