Small but perfectly formed, the Koh Yao islands of Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai lie in beautiful Phang Nga Bay between Phuket and Krabi, and offer beautiful scenery and a relaxed atmosphere. The islands are fairly undeveloped with just a few accommodation options.
With easy access from both Phuket and Krabi, the Koh Yao islands are an ideal contrast to their busier neighbours. Spend a few days exploring the villages that are dotted around, or chilling on the beach or by the pool.

Spend a few nights chilling out on Koh Yao together with a stay at either Krabi or Phuket, or visit all three for some island-hopping. Including Bangkok too is easy, while Phuket’s excellent air links means it’s easy to visit almost any other part of Thailand too.
Getting to Koh Yao
Koh Yao is reached by boat from either Phuket or Krabi, taking around 1-2 hours. Some resorts have their own speedboat. We recommend a night in either Krabi or Phuket before visiting Koh Yao, as ferries can depart fairly early in the day.
