5 night Kenya driving/flying safari

This elegant, short safari takes you in to the world of Governors Safaris, staying in two of their beautifully atmospheric properties. Start at Lake Naivasha with a few nights to explore the area before continuing to the Masai Mara to spend three nights at the iconic Governors Main Camp. Fly by light aircraft on the longer journeys.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Depart

Fly from Heathrow to Nairobi, arriving next day. Regional departures from around the UK are also available.

Day 2 - Lake Naivasha

Met on arrival at Nairobi Airport and transferred to the Eka Hotel to freshen up before departing by road through the Great Rift Valley to Loldia House, on the shores of Lake Naivasha (2 hour drive). Enjoy lunch on the lawn overlooking Mt Longonot. Afternoon at leisure, with the option of an evening walk with Loldia's resident naturalist (payable locally). Overnight: Loldia House (lunch and dinner included).

Day 3 - Lake Naivasha

A day at leisure with various optional excursions available including a boat ride on Lake Naivasha (payable locally). Overnight: Loldia House (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 4 - Masai Mara

After breakfast on the lawns of Loldia House, fly by light aircraft to the Masai Mara Game Reserve (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes). Met on arrival at the airstrip and transferred to the Main Governors' Camp with a short game drive en route. Overnight: Main Governors Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 5 - Masai Mara

Take an early morning balloon safari over the Mara followed by a 'bubbly' breakfast (optional extra) or a game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. The rest of the morning is at leisure. After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Main Governors Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 6 - Masai Mara

Take an early morning balloon safari over the Mara followed by a 'bubbly' breakfast (optional extra) or a game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. The rest of the morning is at leisure. After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Main Governors Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 7 - Depart

Fly by light aircraft to Nairobi (approximately 1 hour) from where you can proceed with your chosen extension or return to Heathrow (breakfast included).

Notes

This is a private itinerary just for your group, up to a maximum of 6 passengers per vehicle all guaranteed a window seat. Light aircraft journeys are not on a private basis.

Game drives on the Masai Mara are conducted in the camp’s own vehicles with other camp guests, and a window seat cannot be guaranteed.

On occasion the itinerary may operate in a different order, or different lodges used according to availability and road conditions.

Travel times vary on road conditions and game sightings.

Pack a mixture of warm and light clothing in soft bags, plus sunglasses, camera and insect repellent.

Light aircraft baggage allowance is 15 kg - soft sided bags must be used.
