Covid-19 Update

The situation regarding overseas travel at the moment is fast-changing and complex. Please do feel free to get in touch at any time with any concerns you may have.

Government Advice for Overseas Travel

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is currently advising British nationals to avoid all non-essential travel to certain destinations until further notice, with this advice lifted for travel to other destinations - for a list of destinations that the FCDO are permitting travel to visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-countries-and-territories-exempt-from-advice-against-all-but-essential-international-travel.

Travelling Overseas

Travel to certain destinations may then require specific criteria to be met, such as travelling with a Covid-19 negative test certificate to be allowed in to your final destination or transit destination (with the test being taken within a specific timeframe of departure), or a period of quarantine on return to the UK. For destination-specific information visit https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice, and for destinations that do not require a quarantine period on your return visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors (this information is for England - follow the links for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland advice). Kindly note that, if your destination is open to overseas visitors and the FCDO are happy for you to visit then you will be expected to meet any criteria imposed by the UK or overseas Government, and to cover any costs this may incur - not wishing to travel because of such criteria would not be a reason for your holiday costs to be refunded, although your travel insurance provider may be able to assist.

Many airlines have also introduced additional measures for passengers, and it’s important that you check with your airline or airlines just prior to your departure.

We understand that many travellers will have concerns about their upcoming holiday plans. We want to reassure you that we are working hard to keep all customers up to date with the latest developments – please do feel free to get in touch at any time to discuss options.

If you are due to travel to a destination with restrictions in the next two weeks

Most of our tour operator partners are working to a 14 day timeframe to postpone or cancel holidays travelling to destinations that the FCDO are advising not to visit. If your holiday is due to depart in the next 2 weeks we will contact you to discuss your options – if we haven’t done so already. Many holidays can be postponed to a later departure date, or put ‘on hold’ until the situation is clearer. That way, you can have an amazing holidays to look forward to when things are back to normal.

If you are travelling to a destination with restrictions later on

Many holidays are flexible to change to a later departure date, so if you are travelling in the coming months and are uncertain about how you wish to proceed then get in touch and we can have a look at your booking for you, to discuss options. Some airlines are offering lots of flexibility whereas others are less flexible, but we can certainly give you any advice you need. Many airlines and tour operators are allowing us to carry deposits over to later dates, so you may be able to postpone your holiday by up to a year with minimal cost - but it largely depends on airline flexibility.

Keep Travelling

What we’d really love all our customers to do is to postpone any trips that can’t be taken in their original format, and avoid cancelling entirely where at all possible. We love our destinations and are heartbroken to see hotels, restaurants, shops and bars across the world closing down for long periods of time – or indefinitely. By postponing your holiday to a later date you’re saying to those destinations that have come to rely on visitors “we’ll be back”.

Keep in Touch

Please do get in touch if you have any queries about your travel arrangements, either in the short term or if you are travelling later in the year, and we will of course try and give you the best and most balanced advice we can. As you can imagine, our team are working hard to manage a large number of bookings and we thank you for patience and understanding right now.

Stay safe.
