Perth & Western Australia Fly-Drive

A great value itinerary starting with a few days of luxury in Perth before picking up your car to explore the southwest corner of this diverse state - finish in Margaret River for superb food & drinks!

ITINERARY

Day 1 - UK to Perth

Fly from London to Perth, arriving the next day.

Days 2-5 - Perth

On arrival make your way from the airport to the Pan Pacific Perth for a four night stay - we have a range of hotels to choose from, and your length of stay in Perth is flexible. Spend the next few days enjoying Perth and the surrounding area - if time allows head over to Rottnest Island, a car-free gem that’s home to the cute Quokka (try for a Quokka selfie if you can!)

Day 6 - Perth to Albany

Collect your rental car from the Perth depot, and head to the south coast of Western Australia, at Albany (approx 420 km / 4 hours 30 mins) travelling via the forests around Perth, and Mt Baker, the gateway to the Porongurup and Stirling range national parks, and the hub of the local wine industry. On arrival in to Albany check in to the Ibis Styles Albany for a two night stay.

Day 7 - Albany

Spend the day in and around Albany, Western Australia’s oldest European settlement. The town has a bustling waterfront and a genteel colonial quarter, while the surrounding coastline is quite spectacular.

Day 8 - Albany to Pemberton

Head along the coast to Pemberton (approx 240 km / 3 hours). The journey will take you via Denmark with its beaches and coastline; and Walpole’s wilderness area. Low-key Pemberton is tucked away in the karri forests, and is encircled by national parks. Check in to the RAC Karri Valley Resort for an overnight stay.

Day 9 - Pemberton to Margaret River

Today is a fairly short drive to Margaret River, but we’d recommend a slight detour to take in Cape Leeuwin (approx 180 km / 2 hours 15 mins) where the lighthouse marks the confluence of the Indian and Southern Oceans - the coastline here is dramatic. When you arrive in to Margaret River check in to the Margaret’s Beach Resort for a three night stay.

Days 10-11 - Margaret River

Spend the next few days exploring the Margaret River area, one of the best locations in Australia for wine - and much more! Wherever there’s fine wine there’s also equally fine restaurants, cheese shops, craft breweries and a host of other stunning local produce. The coastline here is gorgeous too, so head to the likes of Cape Naturaliste - if you can drag yourself away from the wineries!

Day 12 - return

Drive back to Perth airport (approx 280 km / 3 hours) drop off your car and check in for your return flight to the UK.
