On the east coast peninsula of Zanzibar.

Rooms at the Karafuu Beach Resort

A total of 135 en suite rooms each with a makuti thatched roof, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, television, mini bar, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and safe. Wi-fi is available (payable locally). 28 Garden Rooms at the top of the slope (3 adults). 40 Cottage Rooms, on a gentle slope with partial sea views (4 adults). 26 Junior Suites on the beach front (3 adults and 1 child).

3 Suites are very spacious and on the beachfront (3 adults). 2 Seafront Villas face the white sand beach, have 2 separate bedrooms and a private plunge pool (6 adults). 20 Bondeni Pool Garden rooms are in the new Bondeni area, at the top of the slope facing the Bondeni pool (3 adults). There are also 16 Masai Pool rooms, which were completed in 2015. These are situated around the 3rd swimming pool, which was also built at the same time as the Masai Pool rooms, and are close to the botanic garden.

Facilities at the Karafuu Beach Resort

There are 3 swimming pools in which to cool down or relax alongside with a book. There are 2 tennis courts, table tennis, a football field, a games room, a gym, a PADI diving centre and 2 boutiques. As well as all this, there is a spa which offers a range of treatments in a blissful haven of calm.

Meals at the Karafuu Beach Resort

Breakfast and dinner included. An All Inclusive package is also available. The makuti thatched reception area is a pleasant welcome to the start of your stay. The 4 restaurants serve a delicious and varied range of food. The 'Marikiti', the main restaurant, has a sea-view terrace and serves generous buffets; the 'Bondeni' offers buffet breakfast and à la carte service; the 'Eatalian' is a restaurant/pizzeria and the à la carte 'Le Grand Bleu' is directly on the beach and serves lobster and seafood. The 'Masai Village' provides Swahili dinners and traditional dancers once or twice a week. A choice of 3 bars serve a variety of refreshing beverages.
