Darren, your guide to Miami from Escape Worldwide.
“Miami is such a cool city, I just love the atmosphere of it! Key West is fab too, so hire a car and head south”
What to do in Miami
Spend your days cruising along South Beach topping up your tan on the sands or people-watching in the cafes and bars. At night, head to some of the coolest clubs in the US. Little Havana is the Cuban pulse of Miami and is definitely worth exploring, while Downtown Miami is perfect for shopping and dining.
Where to stay in Miami
Most of Miami’s hotels are close to the beach rather than in the city centre, with South Beach being the most popular area of Miami Beach. Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue run parallel to the beach, and being close to these streets puts you close to the action. Restored Art Deco buildings are a popular way to stay in a piece of Miami history.
Holiday ideas to Miami
Miami has excellent flight connections to the UK, the rest of the USA and the Caribbean, so a twin or multi centre holiday combining Miami and the Caribbean or Miami with the USA is easy - popular combinations include Miami and New York, Miami and Cancun, or Miami and Las Vegas. Alternatively, hire a car in Miami and head to Key West or the Gulf Coast beaches of Florida.
Multi-cultural Miami offers white sands, year-round sunshine and the largest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world. It’s a city that oozes with style and coolness, and a place to see and be seen in.
