Itinerary for the X2 River Kwai Resort, Kanchanaburi

Day 1 Bangkok/River Kwai:

Early departure to Kanchanaburi province (approx 2½ hours). Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre Museum and moving war cemetery of the Allied prisoners of World War II who died building the railway. Continue to the world-famous Bridge over the River Kwai then travel an hour by road and longtailed boat on the River Kwai to your hotel. After lunch travel upstream by boat to visit the nearby ethnic Mon Tribal Village, whose people lead a simple way of life.

Day 2 River Kwai:

Return downstream by boat and onwards by road to the Hellfire Pass Memorial. After lunch at a local restaurant take a ride on the Death Railway train passing over the original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs’. Later, return to your resort for a relaxing afternoon.

Day 3 River Kwai/Bangkok:

This morning, relax at your resort. Afternoon departure for Bangkok (approx 3 hours) and check in to your hotel. Alternatively, transfer to the airport for your onward flight, or take a transfer to the nearby beach resort of Hua Hin.
