Heritance Kandalama

Integrating the rock face it nestles against, all of the beautifully-designed rooms, suites and public areas look out over the forest – which is alive with monkeys and birds – the lake, and Sigiriya Rock in the distance. The Heritance Kandalama is an eco-friendly hotel which has been incorporated into its natural setting.

Located overlooking the beautiful Kandalama Valley, around 30 minutes from Sigiriya and approx. 4 hours drive from the airport.

152 rooms with airconditioning, shower, and balcony or terrace. Superior rooms have a minibar, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, and a television.

The rooms and suites here are located in one of two wings, one of which has views of Dambulla Rock and the other – our particular favourite – overlooks the iconic Sigirya Rock Fortress.

Facilities at the Heritance Kandalama

Built to blend with its surroundings, the Heritance Kandalama is one of the renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa’s most eco-friendly designs. There are two restaurants at the hotel including the main venue Kanchana, where themed buffets are served every evening, and Kaludiya, the fine dining restaurant where you can enjoy a fusion of international flavours.

There’s also a swimming pool, spa, gym, tennis & badminton courts, bicycles and wifi.
