An impressive international resort set in lush gardens beside a sparkling thousand metre white-sand beach, creating the perfect atmosphere to do as much or as little as you like.

Location

On the sheltered northwest coast, 20 minutes from Port Louis and 1¼ hours from the airport. A beautiful 1000 metre stretch of natural beach with shallow waters open to the public.

Rooms

265 air-conditioned rooms, each with television, telephone, minibar and tea and coffee facilities. Spacious Deluxe Rooms (50m²) feature a sofa area and balcony or terrace, with garden, ocean or premium ocean views.

Deluxe Family Rooms (50m²) can accommodate two adults and two children up to 16 years. Family Suites (100m²) divide into two bedrooms with a sliding door, and feature two bathrooms and ocean views.

Nirvana Rooms (45m²) are in a separate adults-only wing, offering exclusive use of an infinity pool and beach area, complimentary benefits including use of an exclusive lounge with free Wi-Fi, daily sunset cocktail and canapés, plus balcony, terrace or garden with mountain/garden or garden/premium sea views.

Deluxe Honeymoon Suites (100m²) are located on the top floor with wonderful sea views, and feature a lounge area.

Facilities

Bars and restaurants include ‘180º’ for international buffets and live cooking, plus a restaurant showcasing Mediterranean cuisine and modern local recipes, an Indian and a seafood restaurant. There is a children's club (4-12 year olds), fitness centre, Asian Taamra Wellness spa, tennis, beach volleyball, kayaks, sailing, waterskiing and windsurfing. Scuba diving, mountain bikes and big game fishing are also available (extra cost).

Spa and beauty

Reflecting its picturesque island setting and inspired by age-old Asian traditions, the Taamra Wellness SPA at Le Méridien Ile Maurice offers a range of spa treatments in a serene and elegant setting to improve well-being. Many treatments reflect ancient Ayurvedic practices and use the latest in spa technology.

Beyond a wide menu of services, the spa also incorporates a fully equipped gym, hydrotherapy and relaxation areas, a beauty and hair salon, and facilities for Reiki and yoga instruction. Rituals, some ancient and others more recently established, form the inspiration behind the spa's treatments and therapies and form an integral part of any visit to Le Méridien Ile Maurice.

All adult guests of the hotel have complimentary access to the spa facilities, including the Fitness Center as well as the sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi. The spa provides group tours of the facilities each day and the Fitness Center is open 24 hours.

Kids club

At the Penguin Club children aged 4 - 12 are invited to enjoy days of exciting fun within excellent facilities. Tots aged 2 - 3 are welcome to join the Penguin club if accompanied by a hotel babysitter or 1 parent.

Scuba diving

PADI and CMAS diving initiation and diving packages are available. Dive Highlights: The westcoast of Mauritius is a region with a variety of interesting dive spots, with water temperatures ranging from 22° Celsius in winter (5mm wetsuit) to 28° Celsiu
