What to do in Hawaii

Each of the Hawaiian islands is quite different, so it’s worth taking in more than one. Oahu has plenty of interest from fun-filled Waikiki and historic Honolulu to the moving memorials of Pearl Harbor and the little-developed North Shore. Maui and Kauai offer stunning scenery and resort-style hotels, while Big Island is home to active volcanoes and a very different feel - this is one of our favourite islands!

Where to stay in Hawaii

The island of Oahu and the area of Waikiki in particular has by far the majority of hotels across the whole of the Hawaiian islands - Waikiki offers a huge range of options, along with aplenty of appeal for a fun-filled holiday. Elsewhere on Oahu and on other islands hotel options tend to be resort-style for a more relaxing break

Holiday ideas to Hawaii

It’s a long way to Hawaii so our suggestion would be to focus on the islands, taking in two or three of them during your visit - island-hopping is easy and each has its own unique character. On Big Island you may want to consider a few days with a car to explore. Stopovers on the way to or from Hawaii include options such as New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The islands of Hawaii are blessed with beautiful beaches, spectacular volcanic scenery and excellent hotels. The majority of visitors fly into Honolulu on Oahu island and sample the shopping, restaurants and nightlife of Waikiki Beach. The island of Maui is known as ‘The Valley Isle’ and boasts fabulous scenery. Its relaxed atmosphere is shared by Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii.
