Saigon - or Ho Chi Minh City - is an exciting, growing, lively destination that's the main city in Southern Vietnam and gateway to the region. It’s a vibrant city crammed with interest, and one that’s worth a few days exploring as part of any Vietnam itinerary. Our highlights include the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum, plus the amazing streetfood and fabulous cafe culture.

“Saigon is my favourite city in Vietnam, with plenty to see - crossing the road becomes an art form here!”
What to do in Saigon
Saigon itself is a fascinating mix of people and sights, with a lively atmosphere and plenty to see and do. Outside of the City, the Mekong Delta is alive with floating markets of fresh produce, set in beautiful countryside. The renowned Cu Chi Tunnels, outside of Saigon, is an amazing complex of underground tunnels that really gives the visitor a reality check in to the hardships of war.
Where to stay in Saigon
Saigon has some good hotel options, with many properties located in the historic older areas of the city. In the hills at Dalat, properties tend to be historic, and often beautifully renovated.
Holiday ideas to Saigon
Spend a few nights in lively Saigon, taking in the atmosphere and exploring well-known locations such as the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta, before heading on to other areas of the Country, such as Dalat for a few nights of relaxation, or the beaches further north. Alternatively, visit Saigon as a part of a tour of Vietnam, or a wider multi centre holiday to Vietnam and beyond.
