A
flying visit to the wonderful Masai Mara, featuring a selection
of lodges throughout the area - light aircraft bring you in
from Nairobi, and there's a selection of optional beach extensions
too.
More and more visitors to East Africa are choosing a 'Flying Safari', which includes internal transfers by air, instead of by road. This option is usually more
expensive, but there are many benefits from travelling in this way. Most obviously you can save time travelling between parks and increase time relaxing on
holiday and enjoying game drives.
In their own right the light aircraft flights are exhilarating and exciting. Often you are one of only a handful of people in
the aircraft flying over the varied African landscapes. The most popular option is flying to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. With morning and afternoon flight departures from Nairobi with approximately a 1 hour
flight, you can be in the bush to either enjoy a sumptuous lunch, or in time for the late afternoon game drive. Game drives are conducted in 4x4 vehicles.
A range of alternative lodges and camps is available, and other durations can also be arranged.
