A superb introduction to the splendours of Kenya, visiting a variety of key national parks and game reserves along a classic safari circuit. Accommodation in
memorable locations includes an overnight stay at Treetops.
This safari is offered with a choice of two different accommodations.
This itinerary visits the magnificent Samburu, followed by the Aberdares, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. The lakes are home to a variety of birds including
numerous bright pink flamingoes.
The final destination is the breathtaking Masai Mara which teems with a host of plains game plus the ‘big five’.
Treetops will be shutting for refurbishment sometime next year, during which time accommodation will be at the Serena Mountain Lodge (dates to
be advised).

Sunday
Heathrow–Nairobi
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Nairobi.
Monday
Aberdares
On arrival transfer to the Safari Lounge, where you can
freshen up and store any additional luggage before departing
for Aberdares and to the Outspan Hotel (180 kms). After lunch,
opportunity to relax or an afternoon nature walk with the
resident naturalist (weather permitting). Dinner and overnight at
the Outspan Hotel (lunch and dinner included).
Tuesday
Samburu
Drive across the equator to Samburu National Reserve (360 km)
and check in to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive.
Overnight: Samburu Game Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Wednesday
Samburu
Morning and late afternoon game drives in this open savannah
which is traversed by the Ewaso Nyiro River. The river is
populated by hippos and crocodiles, whilst the park is home to
a host of animals including several species which are rarely seen
in numbers elsewhere including Grevy's zebra, reticulated
giraffes and long-necked gerenuks. Overnight: Samburu Game
Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Thursday
Aberdares
Drive south into the Aberdare National Park (220 km) for lunch
at Outspan Hotel. Transfer to Treetops (please limit your luggage
to an overnight bag – the remainder can be stored at Outspan.
Bathroom facilities are shared). Overnight: Treetops (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Friday
Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha
An early morning transfer to Outspan Hotel for breakfast and to
collect your luggage. Descend into the Great Rift Valley and
continue on to Lake Nakuru for lunch followed by an afternoon
game drive. Drive to Lake Naivasha. Overnight: Lake Naivasha
Sopa Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Saturday
Masai Mara
Drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve (320 km). An
afternoon game drive. Overnight: Keekorok Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Sunday
Masai Mara
Enjoy an early morning balloon flight over the Mara, followed
by a 'bubbly' bush breakfast (optional extra – £275), or an early
morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge.
Afternoon game drive. Overnight: Keekorok Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Monday
Extension or Heathrow
After breakfast, return to Nairobi (300 km), proceed with your
chosen beach extension or return to Heathrow (breakfast included).

Flights are in light aircraft and the baggage allowance
is strictly 15 kg per person. Where possible, additional
luggage can be left at your hotel or at the
Safari Lounge in Nairobi and retrieved after the safari. When flying from the Masai Mara to Mombasa
entire luggage must be restricted to 15 kg as no luggage can be stored in Nairobi.

rustic treehouse is legendary for its historical royal connection,
for the animals it attracts and for the sheer joy of exploring
a tree house visited by rhinos, elephants, buffalos, bushbucks,
waterbucks and many others.
Placed in the path of an ancient
elephant migratory route between the Aberdare ridges &
Mt Kenya National Park, & strategically sited right in
front of a watering hole & salt lick. Facilities at Treetops include a restaurant,
lounge & two bars. Leisure facilities include viewing
points from the lodge, game drives, photographic hides, a
Treetops lecture & a full day trip to the moorlands.

On safari at Lake Naivasha. An impressive property with a dramatic backdrop of Kenya's most beautiful fresh water lake. The lodge is set in beautiful grounds with green acacias surrounding the lake which is host to a variety of game including giraffes, buffaloes and the elusive black faced colobus monkey In and around the lake many hippos can be seen wallowing in the water or grazing within the lodge grounds. Situated on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha, the second largest of the only two fresh water lakes in Kenya's Great Rift Valley.
Facilities at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge include two restaurants serving a multi-ethnic combination of European, African and Asian dishes, all made with fresh produce. There are two bars. Accommodation 84 rooms in two-storey African Style rondavels. The rooms on the ground floor have a sunken bath, a balcony and queen size twin beds. On the upper floor the rooms have a king size bed & balcony. The balconies are furnished with a table and chairs, offering an excellent place to relax and watch over 400 bird species which can be found in this region (2 adults and 1 child).
On safari at the Masai Mara National Reserve. This lodge was the first of its kind to be built in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve. It has recently been refurbished and attains the highest standard of comfort and luxury, yet still retains its intrinsic 40 years of history, tradition, character and charm. There's always plenty of activity around the waterhole but during the migration, the lodge is enveloped by the swarming mass of animals. Situated at the southern end of Kenya's Masai Mara Reserve.
