A safari of distinction, fit for royalty, following a classic route through some of Kenya's finest game reserves. Flights to and from the Masai Mara make short work
of the long distances, whilst accommodation is in exclusive lodges in outstanding locations.
One night is spent at the uniquely-shaped tree lodge, The Ark, designed with decks from which balconies provide superb vantage points for viewing the animals
visiting the salt lick and water hole.
In Samburu, accommodation is in the Ashnil Samburu Camp. In a perfect position on the river bank this a wonderful choice for a stay in Kenya. The camp is home
to just 24 luxury tents, all circular, and carefully spread throughout the lush grounds.
Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club offers 115 rooms and provides a wonderful base for a short stay with activities including swimming, walking and horse-riding.
The restaurant here offers an excellent variety of cuisine.
Fairmont Mara Safari Club sits on an ox-bow bend of the River Mara. All 50 en suite tents have views of the hippo-filled river.

Transfer to your hotel for a day at leisure. Overnight: Fairmont Norfolk Hotel.

Aberdares
After breakfast, depart for the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. (240 km – approximately 4 hours 30 minutes). Arrive in time for lunch before an afternoon game drive and a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Overnight: Sweetwaters Tented Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Thursday
Samburu
Depart for the Samburu National Reserve (150 km – approximately 3 hours 30 minutes). Arrive at Ashnil Samburu Camp for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive. Overnight: Ashnil Samburu Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Friday
Samburu
Early morning and late afternoon game drives, with time in between to relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounds. Overnight: Ashnil Samburu Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Saturday
Mount Kenya
Drive to the slopes of Mount Kenya (140 km – approximately 3 hours) arriving in time for lunch. The remainder of the day is free to relax and take advantage of the facilities on offer at this superb safari club. Overnight: Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Sunday
Masai Mara
Transfer to Nanyuki for your light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes). Enjoy lunch at Mara Safari Club before experiencing an afternoon game drive in the private conservancy, by 4-wheel drive vehicle. Overnight: Fairmont Mara Safari Club (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Monday
Masai Mara
An early morning balloon flight over the Mara, followed by a ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast (optional extra), or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Late afternoon game drive. Game drives are in 4-wheel drive vehicles within the private conservancy. Overnight: Fairmont Mara Safari Club (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Tuesday
Extension or Heathrow
Fly in the morning from the Masai Mara by light aircraft to Nairobi (approximately 1 hour). Then proceed with your chosen beach extension, or return to Heathrow (breakfast included).

Set south of Ewaso Nyiro River, in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve, Samburu, a stay here gives you unrivalled access to game viewing.
The waters of the great Ewaso Nyiro River draw wildlife in great numbers to its banks, creating an oasis of green. This is spectacular country, set against a backdrop of the mighty Mount Ol Olokwe.
Samburu is visited by large herds of elephants, drawn by the promise of water. In the dry season the elephants use their tusks to dig deep into the dry river beds, unearthing precious water.
These waterholes then become a focal point for other game. The Samburu region is the best place to find several endemic northern species, including gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe and Grevy's zebra.
The camp is home to just 24 luxury tents, all circular, and carefully spread throughout the lush ground. A lovely pool is a welcome place to cool off.
By day there are guided walks, and to relax there is a massage tent and sundowners are offered at night.
