WHAT
TO DO |
Hurghada
makes an excellent base for divers, as there are numerous sites
within easy access of the resort. A multitude of wrecks, reefs
and walls, all with abundant marine life, are all close by.
The
Resort offers a varied mix of dive sites and beaches, quality
hotels, restaurants and shops, and with access to the southern
Red Sea, it's a great base for sun seekers and divers alike.
The Harbour at Sigala is the main focus of the resort, with
locations further out offering a more relaxing atmosphere. |

WHERE
TO STAY |
Hurghada
offers a good selection of hotel options, located in the resort
itself, the southern beaches to the south of the resort and
along the coastline of the Red Sea heading southwards. El
Quesir & Soma Bay are smaller
resorts, ideal for those seeking a relaxing atmosphere. About
two hours south of Hurghada, El Quesir is uncommercialised and
laid back, while Soma Bay, about 45 minutes south of Hurghada,
is located on a peninsula surrounded by beautiful waters. |

IDEAS |
Spend
a week or two relaxing on Hurghada or in one of the more peaceful
resort areas to the south. Alternatively, combine Hurghada with
a Nile cruise, or with time in Cairo, for a fascinating twin
centre holiday. |

THERE |
Flights
to Hurghada Airport operate direct from the UK throughout the
year. Flights depart Gatwick, generally on a Friday. At certain
times of the year, additional flights from Gatwick plus Manchester
also operate - ask for more details. |
