popular. Centred around the resorts of Dahab and Nuweiba,
this coastline is a great option for those looking for a more

WHAT
TO DO |
Dahab
means gold in Arabic, named for its glimmering golden beaches.
The resort's laid-back atmosphere stems from its hippy past.
Beach diving is common here, with some renowned sites, including
the infamous Blue Hole, being a few miles north of the town.
is The peaceful resort and port town of Nuweiba
has a laid back atmosphere, surrounded by mountains and desert.
It's a good base for exploring the Sinai Coast. The shallow
reefs around Nuweiba are ideal for snorkelling, while dive enthusiasts
head for sites to the north or south of the Resort. |

WHERE
TO STAY |
This
region of the Red Sea has a relatively limited range of hotels.
In Dahab, most properties are in the beach area of Dahab Bay,
or in more remote locations for diving. Elsewhere, hotels are
dotted along the coastline. |

Spend
a week or two relaxing on the shores of the Red Sea, chilling
out in Dahab or Nuweiba. It's also possible to combine Dahab
with Cairo, creating an interesting twin centre holiday, although
the journey between the two is fairly long. |

GETTING
THERE |
Dahab
is served by flights to Sharm el Sheikh Airport, which operate
direct from the UK throughout the year. Flights depart from
Gatwick and Manchester. Direct scheduled flights also operate
from Heathrow. At certain times of the year, additional flights
from Gatwick, Manchester and other UK airports including Glasgow,
Newcastle and Birmingham also operate - ask for more details.
From Sharm Airport, Dahab is about an hour from Sharm. Nuweiba
is served by flights to Taba, which operate direct from the
UK throughout the year. Flights depart Gatwick and Manchester.
From Taba Airport, it's about an hours drive to Nuweiba. |
