| WA really relaxing retreat, off-the-beaten-track of tourism, the Montra on the
unspoilt island of Koh Tao is unpretentious,welcoming and makes a great
choice for scuba diving enthusiasts.
Location: Beachfront on Koh Tao island, about 1½ hours by boat from Koh Samui,
plus a few minutes walk or short drive from the pier (last ferry to Koh Tao 1.30pm, last
back to Koh Samui 3pm).
Facilities: Linked by waterfall, there are tiered swimming
pools and a lap pool, with swim-up bar and in-pool jacuzzi. There’s a PADI dive centre
offering tuition and excursions by unique cruiser to any of 20 local dive sites.
The hotel has a two tiered restaurant with shaded al fresco terrace tables.
Accommodation: 60 rooms, each with airconditioning, telephone, television,
minibar, bath or shower and a balcony or terrace. Superior rooms are as above.
Deluxe sea and pool view rooms are more luxurious. Also available on request are,
Junior suites, Khun Paen grand suites and Beachfront villas with an exclusive pool.
