TRAIN DETAILS
The train has 14 sleeping cars, two restaurant cars, two bar cars
and an observation deck. Prices include all meals and sightseeing
detailed in your
selected itinerary. The service, as you would expect, is superb
with a steward on hand 24 hours a day to make sure you enjoy your
journey.
Dining is a real delight with the finest Eurasian food served, an
excellent wine list complements your meals. Table d'hote meals are
included with an à la carte menu available at an extra cost,
all drinks are also extra. Smart casual clothing can be worn during
the daytime and in the evenings gentlemen are requested to wear
a jacket and tie to dinner.
Cabins are air-conditioned and beautifully designed in colonial
style with rich wood panels. There are three types of cabin, the
comfortable Pullman Cabin offers upper and lower berths, with the
more spacious State Cabins offering twin beds. For the ultimate
in luxury please ask for prices for the Presidential Suites.
ITINERARY
THAI EXPLORER
Day 1
Join the E&O for an afternoon departure. Relax and enjoy
afternoon tea as you travel into Northern Thailand.
Day 2
Morning arrival in Chiang Mai for a full day's excursion
including lunch. There are a variety of experiences including a
city tour, elephant camp and ride or handicraft workshops. One night
tour ends here or return to the train for afternoon tea and departure.
Day 3
After breakfast the train arrives at Sawankhaloke for an
onward journey to Si Satchanalai, part of the ancient Khmer empire.
Return to the train for lunch and continue your journey through
Thailand. Disembark at Lampang for a horse-drawn carriage ride to
Baan Sao Nok and enjoy tea at this traditionally built Thai house.
Return to the train for dinner.
Day 4
Train arrives in Bangkok after breakfast, where your
journey ends.
