Day 1: Heathrow–Nairobi
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Nairobi.
Day 2: Aberdares
Transfer to the Safari Lounge, where you can freshen up before departing for the Aberdares (180 km – approximately 4 hours). Arrive at Outspan Hotel where your luggage can be stored. Continue with an overnight bag to Treetops for lunch and overnight stay. Overnight: Treetops (lunch and dinner included).
Day 3: Samburu
Drive north across the equator to the Samburu National Reserve (220 km – approximately 4 hours) and check in to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Overnight: Samburu Game Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 4: Samburu
Morning and late afternoon game drives in Samburu National Reserve. Overnight: Samburu Game Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 5: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast descend into the Great Rift Valley, stopping en route for lunch at Thomson’s Falls (275 km – approximately 5 hours). Continue to Lake Nakuru with a game drive en route to the lodge (70 km – approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes). Overnight: Lake Nakuru Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 6: Masai Mara
Drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve (270 km – approximately 5 hours 30 minutes). An afternoon game drive. Overnight: Keekorok Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 7: Masai Mara
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Or take an early morning balloon flight over the Mara followed by a ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast (optional extra). Afternoon game drive. Overnight: Keekorok Lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 8: Nairobi
After breakfast, return to Nairobi by road (300 km – 5 hours), and transfer to the Ole Sereni Hotel for overnight (breakfast included).
Day 9: Kigali – Parc National de Volcans
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Kigali. Met and driven to Musanze in the northwest part of Rwanda (110km – approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) and then on to your chosen lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 10: Parc National de Volcans – Gorilla Trekking
A very early morning transfer to the Park Office for gorilla trekking formalities before starting your trek. Treks vary in duration depending on which gorilla group you are assigned to. After locating your assigned gorilla group, you will spend approximately one hour in their company before heading back down the volcano slopes. Lunch at the lodge with the afternoon to relax. Overnight at your chosen lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 11: Kigale
Another opportunity for gorilla trekking or a Golden Monkey trek (optional extras), or morning at leisure at your lodge. After lunch drive back to Kigali. Overnight: Kigali Serena Hotel. (breakfast and lunch included).
Day 12 Nairobi
Transfer to Kigali airport and fly to Nairobi, proceed with your chosen beach extension, or return to Heathrow (breakfast included).
