An ideal short tour for visitors with limited time or for returning guests, combining the highlights of Upper Egypt with time in Cairo.

Sample Itinerary:

MONDAY - Depart from the UK for your flight to Luxor. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Presidential Nile cruise boat for an evening check-in. Overnight in Luxor.

TUESDAY - After breakfast, the morning is free to explore Luxor. In the afternoon, visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank. Overnight in Luxor.

WEDNESDAY - In the morning, visit the highlights of the West Bank, including the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, sail via Esna lock to Edfu. Overnight in Edfu.

THURSDAY - In the morning, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, before continuing along the Nile, midmorning, to Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris in Kom Ombo, and then continue on to Aswan. Overnight in Aswan.

FRIDAY - After breakfast, check out of your cabin and spend the day exploring the sights of Aswan, with a visit to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae in the morning, and a relaxing trip on a felucca past the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island in the afternoon. In the evening, transfer to Aswan airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Mercure Le Sphinx for the next 3 nights. During your stay in Cairo, you may sightsee independently or pre-book your excursions. Other hotels are also available.

MONDAY - Transfer to Cairo airport for your return flight to the UK.

Please ask for details of the closure of Esna Lock. If you propose to sail during this period, please check how your itinerary may be affected with our Reservations Department, prior to booking.

It may be necessary to amend the itinerary due to prevailing local circumstances. We will endeavour to provide you with as much notice as possible.

Cabins: Each cabin is tastefully furnished and features private facilities and air-conditioning. They are equipped with TV (including 2 video channels), mini bar, 2 radio programmes and are outside facing with a picture window.

Cuisine: Excellent food is served in the boat’s dining room. A bar is also available.

Facilities: A swimming pool and sundeck with loungers allow for relaxation. On-board entertainment includes belly dancing, a Nubian show and an Oriental party. There is also a TV lounge with a choice of videos and games. Jewellery, handicrafts and souvenirs are available from the gift shop.
