The ultimate tour
of Egypt allowing plenty of time to appreciate all the main sights,
plus time to relax at the coast - or in Luxor - afterwards.
MONDAY - Depart from the UK for your flight to
Luxor. On arrival, you will be met and
transferred to the Ra I for
an evening check-in. Overnight in Luxor. Other Nile cruise boats are also available.
TUESDAY - In the morning, visit the Luxor Museum. In the afternoon, visit
the Temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank. Overnight in Luxor.
WEDNESDAY - In the morning, visit the highlights of the West Bank,
including the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of
Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, sail via
Esna Lock* to Edfu. Overnight in Edfu.
THURSDAY - In the morning visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, before
continuing along the Nile, mid-morning, to Kom Ombo. In the afternoon,
visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris in Kom Ombo, and then continue
on to Aswan. Overnight in Aswan.
FRIDAY - After breakfast, spend the day exploring the sights of Aswan,
with a visit to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae in the morning and a
relaxing trip on a felucca past the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine
Island in the afternoon. Overnight in Aswan.
SATURDAY - Spend the morning at leisure in Aswan, with the option of a
trip to Abu Simbel. In the afternoon, sail from Aswan to Edfu, stopping enroute
for a view of Kom Ombo Temple. Overnight in Edfu.
SUNDAY - In the morning, sail from Edfu to Esna. Visit the Temple of
Khnum at Esna before crossing the lock* and continuing on to Luxor in
the afternoon. Overnight in Luxor.
MONDAY - After breakfast, disembark your
cruise boat and transfer to Luxor airport for your
flight to Cairo. On arrival, you will be met and
transferred to the Sofitel Le Sphinx for the next 3
nights, with a range of alternative hotels also available. During your stay in Cairo, you may
sightsee independently or pre-book your
excursions.
THURSDAY - After breakfast, transfer to Cairo
airport for your flight to Hurghada. On arrival,
you will be met and transferred to your chosen
hotel for the next 4 nights. During your stay, you
can experience the delights that the underwater
world of Hurghada/El Gouna has to offer (see
our diving section for details). Prices are based on the Dawar El Omda Hotel in El Gouna.
Alternatively, transfer to Cairo airport after
breakfast for your flight to Luxor. On arrival, you
will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel
for the next 4 nights. During your stay in Luxor,
you may sightsee independently or pre-book
your excursions
.
MONDAY - After breakfast, transfer by road
from Hurghada/El Gouna to Luxor airport, a
journey of approximately 5 hours, or from your
hotel in Luxor, for your return flight to the UK.
* Please ask for details of the closure of Esna Lock. If you
propose to sail during this period, please check how your itinerary
may be affected with our Reservations Department, prior to booking.
It may be necessary to amend the itinerary due to prevailing
local circumstances.We will endeavour to provide you with as
much notice as possible.
