of the Yala Wildlife sanctuary and the Indian Ocean at the southernmost
tip of Sri Lanka. The Yala Village hotel is about 41/2 hours from
Colombo airport, therefore we recommend an overnight stay on arrival
and departure in Colombo or Mount Lavinia. Spanning 10 acres of
jungle and endless miles of sandy beaches, Yala Village is a nature
resort of untamed beauty and charm for those who like to be within
a natural environment where animals and birds roam freely.
Facilities Head to the observation deck for a bird’s-eye view of the eco-friendly sanctuary or look out for wildlife while floating in the swimming pool overlooking the nearby lake. Embark on a safari, tour or excursion - you could go birdwatching or lake fishing - before dining at the restaurant and sipping cocktails at the poolside bar. There's also a souvenir shop.
Accommodation 60 chalets (54 Jungle chalets and 6 Beach chalets), all with airconditioning, telephone with IDD, cable television, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, hair dryer, balcony, complimentary toiletries, shower cubicle, and hot and cold water.
Jungle chalets are situated inland with a verandah.
Beach chalets have a private verandah with views of the Indian Ocean.
