Bali Beach: 2 nights
Lovina: 2 nights
Ubud: 2 nights
Candidassa: 1 night
Bali Beach: 4 nights plus

DAY 1
Fly Malaysia Airlines from Heathrow via Kuala Lumpur to Bali, arriving the following day for two nights of relaxation at your chosen beach hotel. You will fly with Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong if extending here and with British Airways to Singapore and onwards with Singapore Airlines if taking the Singapore option.

DAY 4
Your experienced guide will collect you this morning. Travel through spectacular scenery to colourful Candikuning market, where you can try exotic fruits including the durian - renowned for its distinctive odour. You'll visit the enchanting botanical gardens, home to around 1,500 species of beautiful plants including rose, orchid, cactus and medicinal plants. Then it's on to Ulundanu Temple on Lake Bratan - one of the most photographed temples on the island and an iconic image of Bali, it's an exceptional sight that gives the illusion of floating on water. Absorb this peaceful area's natural beauty before travelling through countryside, terraced rice fields and plantations and visiting Gitgit waterfall en route to northern town Lovina (approx. 60 miles)

DAY 5
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the surrounding area of Lovina, with its unspoiled black volcanic beaches and lush green mountains. This traditional fishing community has a laidback island lifestyle and you can snorkel, dive and soak in the wonderful hot springs.

DAY 6
Another day of discovery, with today's highlight being a visit to Kintamani. Travelling in, you'll see the imposing sight of active volcano Mount Batur perched dramatically on top of the crater rim. From here, see exhilarating views of the crater, lake and volcano peaks. On the way back from the volcano you'll visit the Holy Spring Water Temple at Sebatu village. Drive on to Ubud, where you'll stay for two nights (approx. 68 miles). Ubud is a creative little town set amid terraced rice paddies and lush mountains. It's seen as Bali's cultural heart, with numerous art galleries, museums, cafés and architecture to explore.

DAY 7
After breakfast, travel to see a performance of Barong, a Balinese artistic blessing dance, in countryside village Batu Bulan. Next you'll visit Bali Bird Park in Singapadu, home to the world's largest and finest collection of Indonesian birds and a chance to see birds of paradise including the world’s rarest bird, the Bali Starling. From here you'll be taken to Celuk Village, famous for its silver works, and then Mas Village, a woodcarving centre. Complete an inspiring tour of Ubud Village and enjoy lunch (not included) in one of Ubud’s many restaurants. The afternoon will be spent at leisure, perhaps shopping or visiting some of the area's amazing temples. Stay overnight in Ubud.

DAY 8
Travel east to Bali's largest temple, the Besakih or Mother Temple. Over 1,000 years old, it's a beautiful place of worship perched on the slopes of Mount Agung, the island's highest mountain. On the way, stop at Goa Gajah, also known as Elephant Cave. Overwhelmingly peaceful and spiritual, this ancient heritage site of Hindu and Buddhist priests dates back to around the 11th century but was only rediscovered in 1923. After visiting the temple, pass through Salak plantations and Tenganan, an ancient fortress village in the east of Bali with a cultural legacy dating back to the Majapahit Empire. Here buffalo roam freely in the lush green surrounds. Stay overnight in the village of Candidasa (approx. 75 miles).

DAY 9
The morning is at leisure in Candidasa, a tranquil fishing village with spectacular palm-fringed white-sand beaches. En route to your beach hotel you'll stop by Kusamba, a black sand village famous for salt production. You will also visit the Goa Lawah temple with its famous bat cave where thousands of large fruit bats, thought to be the guardians of the temple, hang from the rocky ceiling. Your last stop will be Kertagosa, a former Royal court of justice and a unique building with an elaborately decorated ceiling that depicts both good and evil. Spend the next four nights in comfort, peace and privacy at your chosen Bali beach hotel.

DAY 13
Fly Malaysia Airlines via Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow arriving the next day. Alternatively you may choose to extend your holiday to either the vibrant city of Hong Kong or Singapore for three nights.
