Sandals in Antigua is a stylish deluxe village resort
set in lush tropical gardens and on one of the
loveliest beaches on the island. The Mediterranean
Village opening at the beginning of 2007 will add an
impressive selection of facilities and luxurious
accommodation to this popular resort.
Location Sandals Grande Antigua is a sophisticated resort
nestling on beautiful Dickenson Bay beach just ten
minutes drive north from St. John’s and about 15
minutes from the airport.
Facilities As a Sandals Signature Collection Resort, Sandals
Grande Antigua offers the highest level of service. The
resort has two village areas set adjacent to each other
along magnificent Dickenson Bay, the original
Caribbean Grove with its beautiful garden setting and
the brand new Mediterranean Village opening summer
2007. There is an excellent selection of elegant
restaurants. International, Japanese, Caribbean and
western grill restaurants are located in the Caribbean
Grove, all offering à la carte dining. New at the
Mediterranean village is an Italian restaurant, an
English style pub, a wood fired oven Pizzeria and a
relaxed barefoot restaurant. Watersports include
kayaking, windsurfing, or snorkelling all with
professional tuition provided. Scuba diving is also
included for PADI certified divers whilst beginners can
complete a resort or full certification course at extra
cost. There’s a fully equipped fitness centre, floodlit
tennis and volleyball. There are a number of whirlpools
and swimming pools, one with swim-up bar, including
the huge pool at the Mediterranean Village, the largest
in the eastern Caribbean. The Red Lane Spa offers you
the chance to indulge with a facial, massage,
reflexology, hydrotherapy treatments, body wraps or
another treatment of your choice (at extra cost). In the
evening there’s the piano bar, the nightclub, theme
evenings and live local bands.
Accommodation Rooms and suites are set in the Caribbean Grove (193)
or the new Mediterranean Village (180) where all
accommodation is either Junior or One bedroom suites
and comes with concierge services. All are beautifully
appointed and have airconditioning, kingsize bed,
satellite television, telephone, coffee maker, mini-fridge
and bar unit, bath and shower.
Deluxe rooms: have views of the gardens and
have a terrace. Located in the Caribbean Grove.
Premium rooms: as above but more spacious and
nearest the main pool. Located in the Caribbean Grove.
Concierge Rooms and Suites
Concierge rooms and suites are some of the best at
the resort and all have the services of the Concierge
Centre for VIP check-in and dinner reservations,
mahogany four poster bed, bathrobes and in-room bar.
Butler service is included in certain room categories.
Caribbean Grove
Grande luxe beachfront concierge room:
facilities as above with balcony or terrace overlooking
the pool, beach and sea.
Honeymoon garden rondoval with private plunge pool: circular rooms set in the garden with outdoor
private plunge pool. Butler service included.
Mediterranean Village
Portofino junior suite (PJS): beautiful rooms with
additional sitting area and partial sea or beachview.
Venetian oceanview junior suite (VJS): as above but with
views over Dickenson Bay, the gardens and beach.
