The Pearl of the
Caribbean tour Cuba’s unique historic capital Havana, the
colonial cities of Cienfuegos and Trinidad and the picturesque
tobacco-growing region of Vinales Valley.

DAY 1 Welcome and overnight at the historic Sevilla hotel in
Havana’s old quarter.
DAY 2 A detailed tour showcases the famous sights of Havana
including the historic old quarter, Museum of the Revolution,
Partagas cigar factory
and Havana Club rum
factory. After lunch in
Cathedral Square the
tour continues to
Revolution Square and
the memorial to Jose
Marti, ending with a
drive along the famous‘Malecon’, Havana’s seafront promenade. The remainder of the
day will be at leisure before dinner in a local restaurant with an
option afterwards to visit the world famous Tropicana Cabaret.
DAY 3 After breakfast the tour departs for Finca Vigia, the
former home of Ernest Hemingway before continuing east
through the sugar plantations to the city of Cienfuegos. There
will be a stop en route at Guama for a boat ride through the
mangroves to a replica Taino village on the shores of Treasure
Lake. Lunch will be taken at a local countryside restaurant
before continuing to Cienfuegos, known as the ‘Pearl of the
South’ where we will settle in at the hotel for dinner and
overnight.
DAY 4 After breakfast there will be an orientation tour of
Cienfuegos before continuing along the coast to Trinidad, a
UNESCOWorld Heritage site and one of the best preserved
colonial cities in the world. A walking tour will include local
museums, Casa de la Trova for traditional music and the 18th
century house La Canchanchara to sample the local cocktail.
After lunch in the Grand Hotel in the city, return to Cienfuegos.
Rest of the afternoon at leisure before dinner in the elegant
Palacio del Valle overlooking the bay in Cienfuegos.
DAY 5 After breakfast the tour departs for Santa Clara, where
we will visit the mausoleum of Che Guevara and other sights
related to the Cuban Revolution. After lunch in a local hotel the
tour continues to the Sierra del Rosario Nature Reserve and the
Moka hotel. Dinner will be at a local farmer’s restaurant in a
peaceful rural setting.
DAY 6 Today the tour will visit the famous Vinales Valley with
stops to absorb the beauty of the area. There will be a
subterranean boat ride through the El Indio limestone cave
followed by lunch in Ranchon San Vicente countryside
restaurant. In the late afternoon we will return to the Moka
hotel with dinner in an organic vegetarian restaurant within the
Las Terrazas community.
DAY 7 The morning will be free to relax by the pool, take a
stroll through the local village or take a swim in the San Juan
river. After lunch overlooking the lake we will leave for the short
drive back to Havana and connections to onward destinations
before continuing to your Varadero hotel. Check in to your Varadero hotel for an eight night stay.
DAY 15 Transfer to Havana airport for your return flight home.
