DAY 1 Virgin Atlantic flight on Wednesday from Gatwick to Havana. Arrive and transfer to the historic Hotel Nacional de Cuba in a Standard room.

DAY 2 Visit the imposing El Morro castle, set across the bay with wonderful views over Havana. Continue to the old town, with the opportunity to explore on foot and view Hemingway’s home. Lunch at a local restaurant followed by an afternoon visit to the modern part of Havana.

DAY 3 Today starts with a visit to the cigar factory. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant followed by time to relax before an evening visit to the Cabaret Parisien or other optional evening excursions.

DAY 4 Leave Havana and drive to Trinidad. En route visit the town of Santa Clara, capital of Villa Clara province and synonymous with Che Guevara, followed by lunch. Continue to Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a short tour that introduces you to this charming town of historical buildings and cobbled streets. Spend two nights at the Iberostar Grand Trinidad .

DAY 5 Start early for a visit to the Valle de Los Ingenios, where you can see ruins of sugar mills destroyed during the two Wars of Independence, with lunch at a local restaurant . Afternoon at leisure to further explore the town or visit the nearby beach of Playa Ancon.

DAY 6 Continue to the elegant city of Cienfuegos. Settled by the French, the city’s 19th Century architecture and seaside setting is spectacular. A tour of the city and boat trip on Cienfuegos Bay is included. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and overnight at either Hotel La Union or Hotel Hotel Jagua Cienfuegos (59 miles).

DAY 7 Return by road to Havana for a final night at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba in a Standard room (152 miles).

DAY 8 Return flight to Gatwick with Virgin Atlantic, arriving the following day.


This tour is escorted by a local guide from Day 2 to Day 7. Extensions are not escorted but assistance is provided in each destination by our local representative.

MEAL PLAN Prices include breakfast throughout, lunches from Day 2 to Day 6 and dinner on Days 4 to 6.

ACCOMMODATION Away from Havana and the beach resorts, choice of accommodation is limited. We have selected hotels that reflect the history of the country, all of which are at least of three star standard.
