Day 1 Fly from the UK to Salvador and book in to
your overnight accommodation.
Day 2 Leaving Salvador you take the 2 hour flight to Rio
upon arrival you tour guide will be waiting for you to transfer
you to your selected hotel in Rio for the next 2 nights
Day 3 Explore the pulsating city of Rio, home of Copacabana
and the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Included in your stay is
a half-day tour of Rio’s most famous landmarks taking you
by cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain and to the main historical sites
of the city.
Day 4 From Rio you make the 3 hour flight south to Foz
do Iguassu, and are taken to your hotel to check in. This is the
gateway to the Iguassu Falls, one of Brazil’s premier natural
attractions. Here rapids collect water for almost three miles before
plummeting over a precipice 20 metres higher
than Niagara and about half as wide again – an awesome and
unforgettable sight. Wilder too than its North American counterpart,
Iguassu enjoys an incomparable setting, with parrots, toucans and
butterflies splashing vivid colour around the surrounding begonias,
orchids and palms. During your stay we include a half-day tour taking
you on a 45-minute walk through subtropical forest, then by lift
from the base of Salto Floriano to the viewing point for an incredible
view over the falls Depending on the arrival flight in Iguassa,
this tour may have to be transferred to the next day.
Day 5 Trade one splendid region for another, as you put
Iguassu behind you and make the 10 hour flight north to Manaus,
capital of the Amazonas. On arrival you will be transferred to your
Jungle lodge where you will be staying for the next two nights.
Day 6 During your stay you might like to take a boat tour
to see the Meeting of the Waters, where the black Negro and the
light Solimoes rivers flow side by side for several miles without
mixing, or why not try Piranha fishing?
Day 7 Take a walk in the lush Amazon rainforest that surrounds
Manaus for bird and animal watching, swimming or canoeing in local
lakes or visit a traditional Caboclo house.
Day 8 Finish your stay with a Jungle tree top tour before
transferring to Manaus airport for the 6 hour flight to Salvador.
Upon arrival in Salvador you will continue by coach to your chosen
hotel in Bahia. |
