DAY
1 Depart the UK today for your overnight
flight with Thai Airways via Bangkok and
onwards with Bangkok Airways to the
UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang
Prabang. Shrouded by mountains this
historical and pretty place is your first port
of call on your Classic Indochina itinerary
with two nights at the first class Three
Nagas. Over the next two days see the many
sights of Luang Prabang.
A selection of tours are available to
prebook (at extra cost) before departure
or on arrival. Major sights outside the
city such as the Pak Ou Cave Temples or
Kuangsi Waterfalls can be experienced on
a day trip from the city. Additional activities
such as taking a walk to the crest of Mount
Phousi to view the city from above and
marvelling at the gold adorned woodwork
at the Wat Xieng Thong temple are all close
by and can be explored at your leisure.
DAY 4 Depart Luang Prabang today and fly with
Laos Airlines as your journey takes you to
Vietnam’s enchanting capital city of Hanoi.
Arrive in the evening and transfer to your
choice of hotel for the next two nights at either at the first class Sunway . Spend the next two
days exploring this delightful capital city and
its meandering streets. A selection of tours
are available to prebook at extra cost before
departure or on arrival. Explore the Old Quarter by foot, take
a cyclo around town, visit Ho Chi Minh’s
monumental marble tomb or the simple
house where he lived. Hanoi has many
delightful areas to explore and a number of
good restaurants for dining out at night.
DAY 6 Journey south today as your Classic
Indochina itinerary takes you to the bustling
streets of Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive early
evening with Vietnam Airlines and transfer to
the first class Windsor Plaza for the next three nights.
These three days are spent at leisure for you
to explore both the city and its outskirts. An
excellent city to explore by foot, many of Ho
Chi Minh City’s sights can be seen while
walking through the city. A selection of tours
which can be prebooked before departure
or on arrival are offered.
DAY 9 This morning you depart Ho Chi Minh City
for your one hour flight with Vietnam Airlines
to Siem Reap and the awe inspiring temples
of Angkor. Arrive in time for lunch and
transfer to the first class Sokha Angkor for the
next three nights. This dusty small provincial
town is home to the majestic temples of
the Angkor civilisation. A selection of tours
are available to prebook before departure
or on arrival in Siem Reap. Highlights
of this area are the many temples and their
intricate carvings. Be sure to see the many
subdued faces of the Bayon, the Elephant
and Leper King Terraces and the founding
temples of the Angkor civilisation with a
visit to the Rolous group. Later view the
majesty of Angkor Wat by sunset from the
top of Phnom Bakheng. Along with all
these temples, tours are also available to
see the mighty waters of Tonle Sap to
experience how local people live on one of
Asia’s largest freshwater lakes. Siem Reap also has a number of bars and
restaurants to explore along with shows of
traditional Apsara dances showcasing
glimpses of the Khmer and Angkor culture.
DAY 12 Depart Siem Reap early evening for your
Bangkok Airways flight to Bangkok and
onward with Thai Airways to London
arriving the next day.

for discerning independent travellers who wish to
pick and choose what they wish to see in each
destination. This is not a group tour and in all cases
you will be free to roam as you please. The number
of nights in each destination is entirely flexible.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Vietnam celebrates New Year’s
Day (Tet) on Feb 07 2008. From Feb 01-Feb16
domestic travel increases dramatically and transport
availability is limited. Many markets, shops and
restaurants close although hotels remain open.
Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is closed Mondays and
Fridays and during October and November.
