| DAY
1 Fly with Thai Airways from Heathrow to Bangkok, arriving
the next day and connecting onwards with Bangkok Airways to Siem
Reap for three nights at the medium class Lotus Angkor. The town
of Siem Reap has grown rapidly in recent years due to its location
close to the incredible temples of Angkor. Over 1,000 temples are
spread amid the forests and farmlands around the town and between
the 9th and 15th centuries this was the capital of a vast Khmer
Empire that spread across much of the region. Our full day or two
day tour offer an excellent introduction to the temples taking in
all of the main sights including Angkor Thom, The Bayon, the Elephant
Terrace and the imperious Angkor Wat. An excellent option for those
looking to get a little more off the beaten track is the full day
trip to the temples of Bang Mealea and Bantey Srei – both
of these sites are less visited and provide a fascinating diversion
from the main temples of Angkor.
DAY 5 Fly with Siem Reap Airways to Phnom Penh
and transfer by road (approximately three hours) to Kep. Stay five
nights at the first class Champey Inn in Kep. Once a popular beach
destination for the French colonialists, who came here to escape
the heat of Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City, Kep is slowly being
rediscovered as tourists enjoy its tranquil setting overlooking
the Gulf of Thailand.
DAY 9
