Managed by the internationally renowned Kempinski group, the hotel
was originally conceived as a showcase for edgy Chinese architecture
with a collection of 11 individual villas centred around a focal
Clubhouse, from which the Great Wall serves as a stunning backdrop.
Location Regularly frequented by a number of Hollywood
stars, the location of the Commune By The Great Wall is truly divine.
Set midst three square miles of the lush Badaling mountains with
breathtaking views over the Shuiguan Valley, this unique contemporary
retreat is splendidly framed by the dramatic twists and turns of
the remarkable Great Wall itself.
Facilities A spacious restaurant offers a sumptuous
fusion of five Chinese culinary regions, complemented by an exceptional
twist on the popular Peking Duck, another tempts with more familiar
cuisine. A welcoming café bar serves drinks and light snacks
throughout the day. The recently opened Anantara Spa facility focuses
on Asian hospitality, delightful indulgent treatments and natural
elixirs and oils to deliver total relaxation.
Accommodation The Commune has recently been expanded
and all new en suite rooms and suites are set high on the hills
surrounding the Great Wall. Located within separate ‘villas’,
each includes communal kitchens and living areas. All accommodation
has been lavishly furnished with decoration by some of the greatest
names in design, Philippe Stark and Serge Mouille among them. Each

and shower. Deluxe rooms are more spacious and located within the
New Cantilever House, Superior rooms are located within the Farm
and Courtyard Houses. Junior suites and Suites are also available
