South Africa, the romantic forest lodge is ideally located for exploring the region whilst
remaining just 25 miles from the nearest gate to Kruger National Park – highly
recommended.
It isn’t until you are escorted to your room that you appreciate this magical retreat and
wonder why you didn’t book a longer stay.
Facilities A collection of small white-washed buildings lie
amongst the forested setting and in the centre a charming old farmhouse with a wide
veranda is fitting for romantic sundowners whilst looking out over the verdant gardens – the
venue for a large secluded heated swimming pool and loungers. As a striking contrast to
the misty greenery of the gardens, the interiors are warm and inviting from its cosy lounge
to the aromas in the fine Relais & Chateaux restaurant. The serene spa is extremely
popular, and offers an excellent variety of signature Clarins and other treatments amidst a
peaceful forested setting, completing an almost utopian experience. For the more active
there is a fully equipped fitness centre and horse riding from Cybele’s own stables as well
as mountain bike trails.
Accommodation The beautifully furnished cottages and suites have walled gardens and feature airconditioning,
shower, bath, complimentary sherry decanter, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar,
television and fireplace. Many have sitting areas and outside showers. Each of the stunning
Luxury cottages are very spacious and are individually designed and proportioned many with
hi-fi systems whilst the Suites offer unrivalled comfort and a private swimming pool.
