| Built on a rocky promontory with spectacular vistas of two magnificent bays, renowned for
dolphin and whale sightings, The Plettenberg is a much sought after residence and enjoys
close proximity to the town centre and beaches, both within walking distance.
Originally a nineteenth century mansion, it was transformed by current owner Liz McGrath
into an exclusive retreat, with a reputation befitting its membership of Relais & Chateaux.
Facilities The bright interior is elegant and reflects its ocean side location. Fine dining at the
restaurant is enjoyed overlooking the ocean and the heated swimming pool. Alternatively,
in a more romantic venue, the Wine Cellar, candle lit dinners for two can be arranged.
A small and serene spa supplements the relaxing atmosphere at the Plettenberg.
Accommodation All rooms are individually decorated in shades of white and cream enhancing the sunlight
that flood many of the large picture windows and French doors. Locations vary between
the old mansion and the newer ‘blue wing’ though all are similarly equipped with
airconditioning and en suite bathroom with shower. Luxury rooms have small balconies,
some with sea view. |
