DAY 1
South African Airways overnight flight to
Johannesburg, arriving the next day.
DAY 2
On arrival you will be met by a
representative and escorted the short walk
to the domestic terminal where you
connect with your onward South African
Airways flight to Port Elizabeth. Here you either collect your AVIS Group B
hire car or transfer (approx. 90
minutes) to the malaria-free Kariega Game
Reserve. Enjoy an afternoon game
drive then spend two nights in the Ukhozi
Lodge, enjoying the luxurious surrounds,
fine meals (included) and resident big game.
DAY 4
Drive or transfer (approx. 3 hours) West
from Kariega into the Garden Route for two
nights at the delightful and friendly
Elephant Hide of Knysna including
breakfast. From here explore the beauty
and scenery of the town, lagoon,
neighbouring beaches and countryside.
DAY 6
A long drive or transfer (approx. 5 hours)
along the N2 west and then inland to the
majesty of the Cape Winelands region and
it's 'capital', Stellenbosch. Countless wine
estates are dotted throughout the surrounding
hills and valleys, waiting to be discovered and their produce sampled. Your home for
two nights in D'Ouwe Werf, a characterful
inn located in the heart of town staying in a
Classic room, including breakfast.
DAY 8
The final leg of this classic itinerary ends in
a fashionable and eclectic suburb of Cape
Town, St James, situated on the shores of
False Bay near Muizenberg and Fish Hoek.
Here cafe culture mingles with art galleries
and beach life in a seducing rhythm.
Rodwell House, where you spend
three nights in the Mountain room, including
breakfast, affords spectacular sea views
and is perfectly situated to explore the
Cape Peninsula and the city itself, being
just 20-30 minutes away by car. Enjoy
locally caught seafood and complementing
wines from the extensive cellar.
DAY 11
Overnight South African Airways flight
direct to Heathrow, arriving the next day. |
