Day 1 Daily Heathrow – Windhoek
Overnight flight from Heathrow to Windhoek via
Johannesburg (plane change).
Day 2 Fish River Canyon
On arrival you will be met by your representative for a
short flight to Canon Lodge in the Gondwana Canon
Park. From here it is not far to the very impressive
lookout points that will afford you an unforgettable
view of the second biggest canyon in the world.
Overnight Canon Lodge, or similar (dinner included).
Day 3 Sossusvlei
After breakfast and a short guided walk, today’s scenic
flight takes you via the Fish River Canyon and the
southern Namib to Lüderitz. After a visit to the
ghost town of Kolmanskop and a short town tour
of Lüderitz, lunch at the Nest Hotel. After lunch,
transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Kulala
Desert Lodge, located not far from the famous
Sossusvlei dunes. Overnight Kulala Desert Lodge, or
similar (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 4 Swakopmund
After an early morning visit to Sossusvlei, the flight
continues to Swakopmund and will give you an aerial
view of the majestic dunes surrounding Sossusvlei.
Proceed along the coast (subject to weather
conditions) over Conception Bay, Sandwich Harbour
and its famous lagoon to Swakopmund. This quaint
desert town with its old-world charm and relaxed
atmosphere, hedged by desert and sea, is enhanced by
lush green lawns and palm trees. Overnight: Central
Guesthouse Swakopmund (breakfast included).
Day 5 Swakopmond
This morning you will be transferred to the
neighbouring town of Walvis Bay for a boat cruise on
the Walvis Bay Lagoon. Overnight: Central Guesthouse
Swakopmond (breakfast included).
Day 6 Twyfelfontein Conservancy
After a road transfer to Swakopmund airport, fly along
the Coast (weather dependent). Have an aerial view of
Cape Cross before you head inland to Cape Kipwe in
the Twyfelfontein area. This area, a very vulnerable and
delicate ecosystem, is renowned for some of the best
examples of rock paintings and engravings in Southern
Africa. Interesting rock formations and the remainder
of pre-historic volcanic action can be seen in the Organ
Pipes, Burnt Mountain and the Petrified Forest, among
the most prominent geographic features. Overnight:
Camp Kipwe, or similar (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Days 7–8 Etosha National Park
After breakfast, fly to Mushara Outpost, located only 8
kms from the von Lindequist Gate on the eastern
outskirts of the Etosha National Park. Spend the next
two days discovering the mysteries of the African bush
in Etosha National Park. Enjoy game drives in the park
and visit the numerous waterholes that attract a large
diversity of animal and bird species, many of these
being endemic to the country. Overnight: Mushara
Outpost, or similar (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
Day 9 Windhoek
Return flight to Windhoek, where you will spend the
last night in Namibia in a comfortable guesthouse. In
the afternoon you will be taken on a city tour.
Windhoek is a city of many contrasts. Modern
skyscrapers blend with historic buildings dating from
the turn of the century. Sights you will see on your
tour are the Ride Memorial, the Old Fort, the
Parliament Building, the Lutheran Church, the Railway
Station and many more. Overnight at Olive Grove, or
similar (breakfast included).
Day 10 Windhoek–Heathrow
Transfer by road to the airport in time for your
overnight flight to Heathrow via Johannesburg (breakfast included).
15 kg baggage allowance on all light aircraft.
Namibia is a vast country with expansive deserts, plains, dunes, mountains
and National Parks. Although it is an easy self-drive destination, for those
short on time and wanting to see as much of the country as possible a flyin
safari is the answer. The benefits of flying are not only time saving, but it
allows you a bird’s eye view of this beautiful country from the comfort of
your privately piloted plane.
