One of the most luxurious hotels in The Gambia, The Kairaba is situated in the popular resort of Kololi next to the enormous beach. Over the past year the hotel has embarked on a refurbishment programme of their public areas including the restaurants and reception.

There are no pool games or loud music during the day to disturb guests, croquet is more in keeping with the tranquil tone of the hotel although a few times a week there is evening entertainment around the pool area.

Probably the biggest change in The Gambia in recent years is the new beaches. The beach immediately outside the hotel has been replenished, the result being a magnificent 100 metres of sand leading down to the Ocean. The ambience of this hotel offers a perfect atmosphere in which to relax and unwind and continues to have a high level of clients returning year after year. Note: Due to effects of coastal erosion, work replacing sandbags to maintain the beach may be necessary from time to time.

Hotel Facilities Set on the beach, feature pool with sun terraces and pool bar, landscaped gardens, local craft market a short stroll away, extensive conference facilities, safety deposit boxes - free of charge. Guests benefit from a variety of restaurants to dine in. Breakfast is served in the Kingfisher Terrace Restaurant which enjoys a magnificent outlook over the mature gardens. The Malimbe poolside snack bar provides excellent lunches and occasional themed buffet evenings. Shikra, the hotel's a la carte restaurant provides an air of sophistication whilst there is a lively and informal atmosphere in the outside bistro, Casa Fernandos and coffee bar Havana Club. Occasional evening entertainment, Observatory, Croquet lawn. Guests have access to sports facilities of the adjacent hotel Senegambia.

Guest Rooms The well furnished rooms, which are arranged on two storeys in a Portuguese style offer an exceptional standard of comfort. Most of the rooms form a horseshoe with views towards the ocean over the beautiful landscaped gardens and central pool and we continue to base our prices on the deluxe rooms. We can offer standard rooms at a substantial discount, which are not in the horseshoe but are located close to Casa Fernandos bistro which can be quite noisy in the evenings.
