The longest established hotel in The Gambia, now owned and managed
by Corinthia Hotels, a Maltese based chain, this hotel has the facilities
and standards expected of an international hotel making it a good
choice for those wanting a hotel-centred holiday. The beach is now
a stunning feature of the hotel. Following a replenishment programme,
the breakwater has been removed and there is now a wide area of
sand leading down to the Ocean.
Location
The Corinthia Atlantic is situated away from the majority of tourist
hotels, being about ten minutes walk from the centre of Banjul which
has little to offer by way of restaurants, bars and nightlife. However,
the location does provide an ideal base for those wishing to explore
the capital, or for the adventurous, take the local ferry to the
North Bank.
Hotel Facilities During the winter there is a wide
range of activities throughout the day and entertainment in the
evening, but only a limited programme in summer. Within the hotel
there is a choice of three restaurants, hairdresser, gift shop,
games room, disco as well as a wide range of sports facilities.
A particular feature of the hotel is the delightful bird garden
which is popular with all guests not just birdwatchers. Man made
