Exploring the Northeast USA is best done by train, and this itinerary includes train travel between each of the four key cities of the region - a superb option giving time in each location to explore.
Day 1 - UK to Washington DC
Fly from London to Washington, arriving later the same day. On arrival make your way to the Omni Shoreham Hotel for a three night stay - we have a range to choose from, and your length of stay in Washington is flexible.
Days 2-3 - Washington DC
Spend the next few days exploring Washington. Our 3-hour Washington Monuments by Bike tour (from £29 per person) will take you along the National Mall and by the Potomac Tidal Basin to discover Washington DC’s famous monuments and memorials. A bike tour is a great way to see Washington with up-close views and plenty of time to walk around and explore the memorials on your own during the tour.
Day 4 - Washington DC to Philadelphia
Make your way to Washington’s Union Station for the Amtrak train service to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. On arrival make your way to the DoubleTree Hotel Philadelphia, for a two night stay - we have a range to choose from, and your length of stay in Philadelphia is flexible.
Day 5 - Philadelphia
A two night stay in Philadelphia will give you time to take in the city’s key attractions, including the Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. Visit the One Liberty Observation Deck (from £14 per person) and see Philadelphia from above with spectacular views of the City of Brotherly Love. Day 6 - Philadelphia to New York
Make your way back to 30th Street Station for the Amtrak train service to New York. On arrival at New York’s Penn Station make your way to the Mela Hotel Times Square for a three night stay - we have a range to choose from, and your length of stay in New York is flexible.
Days 7-8 - New York
Spend the next few days exploring New York. The 48-hour Hop-on Hop-off bus tour with harbour cruise (from £43 per person) is the perfect way to explore New York's sights with unlimited hop on/hop off opportunities at over 50 stops around the city. Also included is a sightseeing cruise for wonderful views of the Statue of Liberty and the famous Manhattan skyline.
Day 9 - New York to Boston
Make your way back to New York Penn Station for the Amtrak train service to Boston. On arrival make your way to the Copley Square Hotel for a three night stay - we have a range to choose from, and your length of stay in Boston is flexible.
Days 10-11 - Boston
Spend the next few days exploring Boston.
