A glorious setting for a spot of pure relaxation, the Breezes Beach Club on gorgeous Zanzibar’s east coast will have you chilled out from the moment you arrive - one of our favourite East Africa settings.
Family owned and managed, Breezes Beach Club & Spa is charming and romantic. Part of The Zanzibar Collection and fronting one of Condé Nast Traveller’s top 30 island beaches, Breezes is a tropical hideaway that’s particularly popular with couples.
Location of the Breezes Beach Club
On peaceful Bwejuu Beach – voted one of the world's top 30 island beaches by Condé Nast Traveller – on the south-east coast of Zanzibar. Approximately 60 minutes from Zanzibar Airport.
Rooms at the Breezes Beach Club
74 rooms and suites. Standard Rooms are set back from the beach with garden views, cotton throws, teak wood finishes and Zanzibar carvings, plus air-conditioning, a fridge, a full third bed functioning as a sofa, and a terrace.
Deluxe Rooms are on the ground floor of bungalows at the heart of the resort, whilst Suites are located on the upper floor of bungalows with a large balcony area, and include a large balcony with sun beds, a walk-in dressing room, a larger bathroom with large terrace, and a covered outdoor lounge area.
Facilities at the Breezes Beach Club
The resort offers a pool, spa, floodlit tennis court, fitness room, watersports centre, PADI dive centre, television room, gift shop and Wi-Fi (free in public areas; at extra cost in rooms). There are plenty of shaded loungers on the white sand beach, and the hotel’s exotic gardens surround the large freeform pool.
Emulating the luxurious Sultans Bath Houses on the island, the Frangipani Spa's décor reflects a sophisticated Swahili Style, enhanced with relaxing music, candlelight and spice scented aromas. In this setting a variety of treatments and therapies are offered which are aimed at relieving stress, exhaustion and other impacts of a modern lifestyle.
Breezes is home to one of Zanzibar’s most professional and experienced PADI diving centres - The Rising Sun Dive Center, which offers all diving services from beginners to advanced diving. Experienced diving instructors provide personalised instruction on a one-to-one basis while advanced divers can enjoy the fascinating marine life of the south-east coast of Zanzibar.
This family-run resort is environmentally aware, with a desalination plant and a recycling system in place. It also supports a local school and has funded the creation of a maternity unit at the village clinic.
Meals at the Breezes Beach Club
Breakfast and dinner included. The choice of restaurants includes the Salama Dining Room, where breakfast and dinner are served if you’ve booked on Half Board or Full Board. Dinner alternates between themed buffet dining and table service menu. The Breakers Grill serves a lunchtime menu on the beach under the palms, and at The Sultan’s Table you can sample seafood flavoured with Indian and Swahili spices in a beautiful ocean view setting. For something extra special, reserve The Tides – a thatched pavilion overlooking the ocean, with just a single table for two.
