A fabulous itinerary combining a few days in Boston with an 8 night fly-drive taking in Cape Cod, Vermont and New Hampshire. Cities, coast, mountains and lakes all in one superb holiday.

Day 1 - UK to Boston

Fly from London to Boston, arriving later the same day. On arrival make your way to the Yotel Boston for a three night stay - we have a range of alternative hotels to choose from, and your length of stay in Boston is flexible.

Days 2-3 - Boston

Spend the next few days exploring Boston. Pre-book a Boston Historic Sightseeing Cruise (from £20 per person) and cruise through Boston's past on this relaxing Boston Harbour that tells the dramatic stories that shaped Boston's and the USA's future. History, character, sites, stories and more – Boston has it all.

Day 4 - Boston to Cape Cod

Collect your rental car from the car hire depot at Boston, and head out of town towards to coast. We’d suggest driving via Newport on the Rhode Island Coast to Hyannis on Cape Cod (approx 150 miles / 3 hours 15 minutes, plus stopping time). On arrival in to Hyannis check in to the Heritage House Hyannis for a two night stay.

Day 5 - Cape Cod

Spend the next few days exploring the Cape Cod area. Take a ferry to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, drive the scenic Mid Cape Highway (US 6) or visit the beaches and dunes of the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Day 6 - Cape Cod to Brattleboro

From Hyannis at Cape Cod we’d suggest driving via the Mohawk Trail from Orange to North Adams on the way to Brattleboro (approx 245 miles / 5 hours, plus stopping time) - there are shorter routes too, but this is the scenic option! On arrival in to bohemian Brattleboro check in to the Colonial Motel Brattleboro for a two night stay.

Day 7 - Brattleboro

Spend the day exploring quirky Brattleboro and the surrounding area of Southern Vermont.

Day 8 - Brattleboro to Stowe

Continue through Vermont, travelling via the Covered Bridges of Bennington and the scenic VT100 Green Mountains route (approx 175 miles / 4 hours, plus stops) - at Bennington, a 30 minute detour will take you across three traditional covered bridges spanning the Wallomsac River, while the section between Waterbury and Stockbridge is particularly scenic. On arrival in to Stowe check in to the Golden Eagle Resort for two nights.

Day 9 - Stowe

In the winter Stowe is Vermont’s premier ski destination, and in the summer cycling, and kayaking take over. This area of Northern Vermont is beautiful at any time of year. Spend the day taking in the areas scenery.

Day 10 - Stowe to Lake Winnipesauke

Head south from Stowe to Lake Winnipesauke in New Hampshire, travelling via the White Mountains and the Kancamagus Highway NH112. This area includes New England’s highest mountains, and a magnet for hikers and adventurers. On arrival check in to the Ballard House Inn for a two night stay.

Day 11 - Lake Winnipesauke

Spend a day in, on and around Lake Winnipesauke, New Hampshire’s largest lake.

Day 12 - Return

Drive back to Boston airport (approx 135 miles / 2 hours 50 minute, plus stopping time) driving via Wolfeboro and Portsmouth. Drop off your rental car and check in for your return flight the UK, arriving the next day.
